Over the last 50 years, our success has had a lot to do with our engagement with communities across Canada. We are strong believers in giving back to the local community as part of our mission to be your neighbourhood destination for everyday needs. Here are some examples of the initiatives we have helped support in collaboration with our communities:
Operation Freeze and Heat in Ontario:
Mac’s (We) provide(s) 35,000 coupons to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to reward young people with a free hot beverage when they are doing good deeds. In the summer, we also provide coupons to reward them with a free Froster.
We are aware of the various needs around us. With your help and the initiatives of our employees, we were able to raise money for charities such as Children’s Wish Foundation, Toys Drive for Christmas and Youth camps. Mac’s is proud to support many local initiatives in communities across Canada.
In partnership with Provincial Police Forces in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia, AMBER Alerts will now appear on the LCD screens in Mac’s Convenience Stores across Ontario and Western Canada. Mac’s Convenience Stores have partnered with the AMBER Alert program to engage the public as quickly as possible in the event of child abduction. The Program quickly distributes details of child abduction in the early stages of an investigation to assist in the safe return of the child. With hundreds of stores in communities large and small across the province, Mac’s store presence can help extend the reach of such critical information to the public in a timely fashion.
